Kudos to the all of the local meteorologists...they actually predicted a snow chance for our area and IT CAME!!! Boy did it ever come. I know that here in the South, a little bit of snow is a MAJOR big deal to us, but it has been so long since we have had as much as a flurry...let alone a few inches(right now we have about 3 inches). There have been so many times the past few years that the prediction was made only for us to have a VERY disappointed son in the morning when it just didn't happen. Well, it did and in a big way too!
In fact, we have been up since Nicholas came into our bedroom at 4:30 AM to tell us that it was snowing. He busted in there like a windmill in a tornado with the announcement that he saw flurries when he went to the bathroom. I thought that he was dreaming and talking in his sleep...flurries in the bathroom???? Kirk bolted out of the bed as well and the next thing I knew, the two of them were downstairs, T.V. blaring, and I could hear them planning their snow day. It was so cute. I yelled down the stairs to see if Santa had come again...I just knew it had to be something BIG like that...the way the two of them voluntarily barrelled out of the bed.
There was no rest for the weary(that would ME)...they could not stand the fact that it was actually 5:00am and I was in the bed trying to sleep and SNOW was falling on the ground! WOE is me!!
Anyway, let's just say that the entire family has been up now since 4:30 watching it snow. It is now 11:40 am and it is still coming down. Nicholas is on his 4Th set of clothes...us Southerners just don't have water repelling, snow stomping, all day wearing snow clothes. The washing machine is tired of having to keep up with Nicholas today. Poor child...the only gloves that he has are a pair of mine that are definitely NOT snow gloves. But, let me tell you...he does look fashionable!!!
But, he is having a blast. His face is red, lips are chapped, nose is running...but...he is having the snow day of his life!!!! I hope you enjoy the pics that I have posted. I am going to try to do some more later on. Let it Snow. Let it Snow, Let it Snow!!!!! I wonder...will they cancel school tomorrow...HUM.......??????
