Easter '09

We started out the Easter weekend doing something that we had not done in a few years...dyeing Easter eggs. For various reasons, we had not done this in a couple of years so we decided to bring back the tradition this year. After braving the Easter aisle at Walmart on Saturday...I was overwhelmed by the vast choices that I faced when choosing a egg dye kit!!! Oh my stars...how long had it been??? I had no idea that there were so many to choose from...there were tie-dye kits, sand art kits, kits with tattoo's, kits with stickers, stamps, stars,...I was simply looking for the kit with the little colored tablets that we had always used in the past...I did not realize that I was going to leave stressed because of the 25 dye kits choices that I had to select from...not to mention the 275 people that I had to wade through to finally get to the kits!!!! WHEW...I found the PAAS kit of my choice and with kit in hand...made my way to the checkout!
I was very excited about dyeing the eggs...Kirk was too! I wasn't so sure if Nicholas would be...seeing that he was 12 1/2 years old now. I hoped that he would not bust my bubble of excitement and think that it was all too baby for him.
I boiled the eggs...got the bowls ready and called Nicholas to the kitchen! He had the best time...no WE had the best time!!!! Here are a few pics of our time together...it makes me sort of sad to see them though...it was so much fun for us...but in reality I know that in a few years...Nicholas will be too grown to do this with his Mom...Oh how I cherish these days!!!!

The PAAS kit that caused quite the controversy!

We only had nine eggs to dye...besides..who can actually eat that many boiled eggs?

The tablets fizzled and fuzzed just as I remembered them doing in the past...aren't the colors pretty?

Is this how Leonardo Da Vinci started????

TA DAH!!! Nine pretty, Easter eggs...but truly Priceless memories!

I miss the days of Easter egg dying. It looks like Nicholas (Michelle and Kirk) all had fun. Cherish these days..... they go by too quick!
