What do you want to be when you grow up????

I know that we all think about ourselves in another job other than the one we have chosen. I sometimes imagine myself doing something else other than teaching...sure, being a teacher is such a glamorous occupation that I know that you cannot imagine why I would ever want to do something else.
If I could do anything in the world as a job, it would be for me to be a Broadway actress. I would love to to have the ability to sing and act on stage. I love going to shows myself. I have to admit though, that as I sit and watch a show, I LONG to be one of the characters. The singing, the dancing, the costumes, the characters...they are so interesting to me. I would love to hear the audience applaud as I made my way to the front of the stage when the performance was over...

BUT,
My bones are way to old to become a dancer...my voice is way to squeaky to sing in a show...and my life is way to busy to spend night after night on a stage being a character in a play!!!!
Instead I will go to bed and wake up tomorrow morning as the teacher that I have been for the last 16 years!!!! A place that I can go and sing and my audience thinks that I have the BEST voice in the world...a place where I can dance because no one cares how I move...and I place that I do get applauds when I read them a new book!!!

I guess being a teacher IS somewhat like an actress on Broadway...I may never win a TONY...Just touch the life of one!!!!!
